Victim robbed at gunpoint while photographing wildlife near St. Francis seminary, suspect sought
ST. FRANCIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- St. Francis police are looking for a suspect they say robbed a victim at gunpoint at the St. Francis Seminary Wednesday, Jan. 11.
Officers responded to the seminary, located near S. Lake Drive and E. Rhode Island Avenue just before 10 a.m.
An investigation revealed the suspect approached an individual photographing wildlife in the area, displayed a rifle and demanded the victim's camera equipment.
When the victim refused to hand over equipment, police say the suspect reached into the victim's vehicle and removed a piece of equipment.
The victim was reportedly in the area to photograph the Mandarin duck that has been spotted near South Shore Park.
Police say the suspect was last seen traveling eastbound from the seminary grounds towards S. Lake Drive in a silver sedan.
He's described as a Black male, 20-25 years of age, 5'9"-5'10", with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt or jacket, a black winter hat and a camouflage bandana-style face mask.
