Veterans charity scam investigation

MILWAUKEE -- If you recently donated to a local veterans charity you may have been scammed. The attorney general is taking action against what it calls a fraudulent charity.

The complaint says a couple created Double Up Incorporated to raise money for veterans but the complaint says no money was donated.

The BBB says the couple got area businesses to buy advertising with a portion going to local veterans. The couple got more than 100 businesses to buy in charging about $300 an ad. They even promised a trip to a couple of lucky winners but the BBB says the trip was actually given away to the couple's friends.

We are not naming the couple at this time because they have not been formally charged.
