UWM valiant in NCAA tournament loss to Villanova

BUFFALO, NY - Austin Arians scored 17 points for UWM Thursday night, but Villanova pulled away for a 73-53 win in the NCAA Round of 64, ending the Panthers cinderella season.

UW-Milwaukee finishes the season 21-14, but with a Horizon League Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament, the season ends on a very high note with optimism for years to come.

Arians hit a couple of key three pointers as the Panthers built a five point first half lead, but Villanova reclaimed the lead before halftime and ran away with the game in the second half.

The Panthers beat Green Bay and Wright State on the road to win the Horizon League Tournament title earlier in March, setting up more than a week of elation and celebration on the UWM campus.
