UWM students on alert after robbery, attempted sexual assault

The Milwaukee Police Department is asking University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee students to be on alert after reports of at least 9 violent incidents in the last 4 days near the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus.

One of the most recent incidents happened at about 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 19th.  A UWM student was approached by two male suspects on the 2000 block of East Linwood Avenue.  The suspects forcibly pulled the victim into a nearby apartment parking lot and attempted to sexually assault them.  The victim was able to break free and run from the suspects.

A day later, just a block away, another incident involving a UWM student has police investigating.  This time it happened on the 1900 block of East Linwood Avenue.  The victim was parking her vehicle there around 1:06 p.m. on Monday, April 20th, when she was approached by three suspects.  They tried to force her out of her car before eventually fleeing the area.
