MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Students began moving into residence halls Monday morning, Aug. 26. More than 3,900 students are expected to move into campus housing starting today.
By 7:30 a.m., there was a line of cars outside of Sandburg. Parents and students filled carts with clothes, fans, refrigerators, storage shelves and more.
"It's about planning and getting here as early as you can," said Lee Chiroff, a parent.
Chiroff was on campus sending his youngest off to her first semester of college. We talked to him as he unloaded her things to bring inside.
"It's a special moment because she's my youngest and it's hard to see her go, and just a relief to see enjoy the experience with hopes high and all the inspiration of the new year," said Chiroff.
"Every single thing that used to be in her room as well as a couple of trips to Target, etc, etc."
Classes start Tuesday, Sept. 3 at UW-Milwaukee.
