UW-Madison student hospitalized with COVID-19 complications
MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A UW-Madison student was recently hospitalized due to COVID-19 complications, according to a dashboard that provides information to the campus community and the public about the results of COVID-19 tests among current university faculty, staff and students.
As of Wednesday, Sept. 16, there are 11 new positive tests reported from campus testing today, which include 10 students and one employee. 35 students and one employee tested positive from off-campus testing sites.
The positive percent rate as of Wednesday on campus is 2.8%. The seven day percent positive rate for students tested on campus is 9.6%.
"We have learned of one student hospitalized with complications of COVID-19. Students and employees are not required to disclose if they are hospitalized, or to provide updates on their condition, but we will report any hospitalizations we are aware of on this dashboard," a statement said on the dashboard's briefing.
As of Wednesday, 374 students are in on-campus isolation and 112 are in housing quarantine.
