UW Health designated as hub for Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine distribution

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) – UW Health will serve as a hub for distributing the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

UW Health says it is preparing to serve as a central storage facility for the region’s supply of the vaccine. It will then distribute the vaccine to health systems and long-term care facilities.

“These vaccines will be going to frontline healthcare workers first, and there are still uncertainties around the quantities we’ll get and the timing of their arrival,” UW Health Senior medical director ambulatory operations Matt Anderson said in a statement. “The public must remain diligent as it will not be widely available anytime soon.”

Anderson urges the public to continue practicing safe measures like social distancing and sanitizing.
