UPDATE: Storms Return Sunday Afternoon and Evening

We have a "marginal" risk for severe weather on Sunday with the biggest risks being heavy rain, frequent lightning, gusty winds, and small hail.  The best timing of the storms looks to be 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Most storms will be scattered so only 10 miles could separate heavy downpours from a dry sky. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App to track the storms especially if you have outdoor plans.

Sunday morning's latest weather models have backed off of the strong/severe storm potential slightly, but still bring in scattered storms Sunday afternoon and evening. Although the threat is low, we are still in the marginal risk for strong to severe storms for most of Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening. We could use a little rain to keep our rain totals for the month close to average but too much would prove difficult for area rivers and streams to handle. Flooding is not expected.

Some of us could get nearly an inch out of the deal. We dry out on Monday and turn cooler.  Highs will only be in the 60s.  This is seasonably cool for us.  But what do you expect?  October is a week away.
