A stunning Sunday for Wisconsin's big sports day

NOW: A stunning Sunday for Wisconsin’s big sports day

This is the third weekend in a row with gorgeous weather! And even though we are getting later into the fall season, it is the warmest weekend since the beginning of September! Highs on Saturday reached the 80s with most of southeast Wisconsin topping out at 80, 81 or 82. Only Racine fell short at 75.

Madison's high temp of 84 Saturday tied its previous record. Milwaukee came close to a record with 81 falling short of the record high of 84 set in 1938. Sunday's temp will all depend on if we see a lake breeze or not. If we don't, we could be in the upper 70s but if Milwaukee does get a SE wind then temps could stay in the low 70s. Regardless, the record is likely unattainable at 86 set in 1928. Monday might have the best chance to tie or a break a record high with a forecast of 81 and a current record of 83 set in 1995.

In addition to the warmth, the forecast looks beautiful for Wisconsin's busy sports Sunday. The Packers have the rival Chicago Bears coming to Lambeau for a noon kick off. Tailgating temps look nice in the 60s then warming to 74 for a kick off temp and getting close to 80 by the end of the game in Green Bay. There could be a strong wind, so keep that in mind. Grab the sunscreen if you are heading north.

The beautiful weather will continue for the Brewers game and the start of the NLCS against the Dodgers. Tailgating will be perfect in the 70s then first pitch temps will drop into the upper 60s after sunset. By the end of the game it's still pleasant in the low 60s. Now that we are in the postseason the MLB has total control over the roof and they tend to keep it closed for night games. With temps in the 60s it will be close.

With this summer feel going into this second week of October, the humidity will start to increase. Some noticeable humidity is definitely possible Sunday, but Monday will be the muggy day with dew points in the mid 60s. Some of the humidity could linger into Tuesday.
