UPDATE: One dead after weekend crash in Dodge County
UPDATE: On Monday, May 1 the driver of the pickup truck, Hans Kubik, died at UW Hospital in Madison.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Medical Examiner and the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team
Late Friday night, April 28, at 11:57 PM, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on US 151 just south of County Highway DE, in the Town Calamus.
Preliminary investigation shows that 68-year-old Hans Kubik from Columbus, WI was driving a 2002 GMC pickup truck south on US 151 in the right/outside traffic lane. 53-year-old Rockford man John Lighthart was driving a semi-trailer, traveling south on US 151. The front of the semi struck the rear of the pickup truck, causing the pickup truck to go off of the roadway into the ditch and overturn.
Kubik was transported to Beaver Dam Hospital and then flown by Flight for Life to UW Hospital in Madison. A passenger in the pickup truck, 68-year-old Mary Larson was taken to Beaver Dam Hospital and then transferred by ambulance to UW Hospital in Madison. The semi driver was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
