Two Teenagers Took a Bus to Madison Airport an Attempted to Steal a Car

Two teenagers attempted to steal a car from the Dane County Regional Airport on Thursday.

According to Dane County Sheriff’s office, deputies arrested two juveniles today when they attempted to steal a car from the parking ramp of the Dane County Regional Airport.

Deputies were alerted to the two boys at about noon by parking enforcement officers who witnessed them arrive at the airport by bus and then enter the parking ramp.

It didn’t take them long to find an unlocked Toyota Avalon with the keys in the ignition.

Deputies encountered the suspects as they attempted to exit the parking ramp, but were unable to come up with the money to pay the parking attendant.

The two suspects then fled on foot with the deputies in pursuit.

With the assistance of Madison Police, the 14-year-old and 16-year-old, both from Madison, were caught and taken into custody.  They will both face charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle without Owners Consent.
