Two seriously injured after rear tire of motorcycle blew in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A motorcycle operator and his passenger were seriously injured in a crash on Highway 33.

It happened around 3:03 p.m. on Saturday in the Town of Herman.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, two people were traveling eastbound when the operator lost control after the rear tire blew. Both occupants were ejected from the motorcycle.

The 58-year-old Beaver Dam man who was operating the motorcycle sustained a serious but non-life threatening injury.

His passenger, a 46-year-old Beaver Dam woman, sustained serious life-threatening injuries.

Both were taken by Flight for Life to local hospitals.

Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.

Neither person was wearing a helmet.

Names are not being released at this time.
