Two more cases of bird flu confirmed, over 1 million birds to be euthanized

Officials have confirmed two new cases of avian influenza, more commonly known as \"bird flu\" in two Wisconsin facilities. raising the number of cases statewide to five.

One is at a farm in Jefferson County that houses 800,000 chickens. Another positive test came from a facility that houses 87,000 turkeys in far northern Chippewa County. All birds that have not already died from the H5N2 virus will have to be euthanized.

Bird flu has now been discovered in Barron, Chippewa, Juneau and Jefferson counties since April 13th. The outbreak has caused some international companies to red flag poultry from Wisconsin and refuse to import it. Over one million birds have had to be killed across the state.
