Two injured in two separate shootings in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two people were injured following two separate shootings Monday evening. 

Around 9:45 p.m., Milwaukee Police responded to a shotspotter alert near 15th and North. Once on scene, officers discovered a 52-year-old man who had suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound. 

According to police, the victim stated that he had heard several gunshots in the area and then realized he had been shot. The victim also said he did not know where the gunshots were fired from. 

The Milwaukee Fire Department treated the victim on scene and transported him to a local hospital. 

Police are continuing to investigate.

Milwaukee Police also responded to a second shooting near 1st and Chambers around 9:50 p.m.

Police say a 38-year-old man suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound stemming from a conversation with another person. 

The victim stated that he was talking with the person when the subject got a gun and shot him.

He was conveyed to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Details regarding the shooting are still being investigated and MPD continues to search for a suspect.
