MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A child was taken to the hospital and two men are in custody after a police chase and crash late Thursday afternoon.
The Milwaukee Police Department says around 4:00 p.m. officers began a very short pursuit of a suspect vehicle which later crashed at S. 27th and Loomis Road. After the crash, two men who were inside the vehicle ran away.
Investigators say the two were later apprehended in the area of 25th and Warnimont. When police checked the vehicle that had crashed, they found a young child inside. As a precaution, the child was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
Milwaukee Police say no other vehicles were involved in the crash and no other injuries were reported.
The reason for the chase is unclear and police are still investigating how the child is connected to the two men.
