Two hurt in Racine house fire

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two people are hurt after a fire broke out in a Racine home early Monday morning.

According to the Racine Fire Department, the fire started around 12:05 a.m. in the basement of a home near Marboro Drive and Ostergaard Ave. The two people in the home at the time were treated on the scene for non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say the home sustained heavy smoke damage. Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire.

Damage is estimated at $40,000. The fire remains under investigation.
