MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It's Career Signing Day for two high school students who are getting an incredible opportunity to enter the workforce early and gain valuable experience.

Muskego High School students Dillion Marx and Dominic Schnier now have jobs.

The two just signed contracts with Findorff construction to work a unique youth apprenticeship program.

"It's crazy. You don't see a lot of people who get this opportunity and it's amazing that we're able to have this job and just be set," said Marx.

The boys will be working on The Couture Milwaukee project. "We're a huge sponsor for the youth apprenticeship program and I'm very excited for this just as much as they are. I really wish I had this opportunity when I was their age," said Findorff Superintendent Jason Reid.

The 44-story skyscraper will become Wisconsin’s tallest residential building.

Jim Michlig is the College Career Coordinator for Muskego Schools. "I'm proud on so many levels. Not only for Dillion and Dominic coming here to have this opportunity for this project but I'm proud of the relationships we've built with our community, with our business partners," he said.

Both students say they can't wait to get started. "I'm more excited to learn all the aspects of construction. Getting to work with my hands and not have to sit around at school all day," said Schnier.

The program will provide critical on the job training for a future career in the industry.

"The workforce crisis is a reality and building trades is a booming market for opportunities for the future and how do we fill that pipeline," said Michlig.

Both students say they feel this opportunity puts them ahead of the game when it comes to figuring out what they want to do post high school.
