"Truly the best fans in the game:" Brewers players react, thank fans after NLCS Game 7 loss

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Players on the Milwaukee Brewers roster reacted on social media to the NLCS Game 7 loss Saturday night and Sunday morning. Most players thanked their fans and said they would be back next year in a similar spot.

Likely NLCS MVP Christian Yelich said on Instagram, "Hats off to the fans you were unbelievable all year."

Pitcher Zach Davies who was added to the NLCS roster after Gio Gonzalez suffered an injury said the city came alive when they needed it more.

Catcher Stephen Vogt who was left off the postseason roster said, "This group of guys made one of the toughest years of my career one of the best."

Pitcher Brandon Woodruff who pitched well in the series including a home run thanked his teammates, coaches and staff for making it the "best experience."

Pitcher Jimmy Nelson who spent all year recovering from injury and is expected to return in 2019 said this about the Brewers fans, "Not just another cliche, but y'all are truly the best fans in the game."
