Man charged for a deadly hit-and-run crash on Milwaukee's south side was ordered to stand trial today.
21-year-old Anthony Velazquez was in court for a preliminary hearing. He faces two charges for hitting and killing 62-year-old Israel Soto-Colon near a school at 35th and Mitchell in April.
A police detective testified today that Velazquez and a woman reported his car had been stolen but witnesses said they saw the couple ditching the car shortly after the incident.
Velazquez' lawyers tried to get the charges dismissed. That was denied.
He is due back in court for a bail and bond hearing a week from today.
