RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Three people were injured following a crash involving two sport utility vehicles and a semi with a tanker trailer.
It happened around 2:40 p.m. on I-41/I-94 near 2 Mile Road in the Village of Yorkville.
The investigation revealed that a 53-year-old man driving a Chevy Tahoe struck a crushable barrier along the median wall and then struck a Jeep Cherokee which was occupied by a 76-year-old married couple. The Chevy Tahoe then crashed into the tanker trailer of the semi.
The three occupants of the sport utility vehicles were taken to local hospitals.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A crash is causing heavy backups on I-94 in Racine County, near County K.
Traffic has not only been backed up, but it has been completely stopped for several hours now due to an accident.
The accident happened around 2:46 p.m. on Tuesday.
Officials have not released many details on what led up to the crash or extent of injuries.
A viewer sent in photos from the crash scene which show a tanker truck and a car that are heavily damaged.
At one point during the backups, people were getting out of their cars and trucks to walk around on the shoulder.
