Wauwatosa Police confirm to CBS 58 they are investigating the sharing of inappropriate photos among students at Longfellow Middle School. Police say as many as 20 kids could be involved.
Staff at the school reported some concerning behavior between students to the School Resource Officer. Tosa police say the behavior took place off school grounds.
Police would not say if the photos were sent via text or an app, but did confirm they were sent electronically.
The Wauwatosa School District sent CBS 58 the following statement:
“School administrators at Longfellow Middle School reported a potential incident to the school resource officer after staff overheard a student discussing concerning behavior. Because of the nature of what was reported, the police began investigating, which school officials have cooperated with. This is an open police investigation and as such, we cannot comment on specifics. What we can say is that appropriate steps have been taken by the school related to students involved and that the alleged behavior occurred outside of school. This became a school matter due to the conversations that unfolded in school. Student safety and well-being is always our top priority and we proactively work to educate students about the dangers of the inappropriate use of technology.”
Friday is the last day of school at Longfellow Middle School.
