Tinder Will Give You $100 to Donate to Women's Charities on International Women’s Day
(MEREDITH) Tinder is swiping right on women’s issues by raising money to support them on International Women’s Day.
The online dating company launched a campaign called #FundHerCause to encourage people to share the women’s causes they care about on Twitter Wednesday.
The first 2,500 people who participate using the hashtag will receive a code to unlock $100 in Tinder funds. Then, they can go to Tinder’s fundraising website to choose a cause and submit a donation.
Those interested in participating can choose to donate to any of the following organizations: Planned Parenthood, Women for Women, Girls Who Code, UN Women, She Lift, She's the First, Partners in Health, Tostan, Baby2Baby, Becky's Fund, Grameen America, Girls Not Brides.
The company is partnering with Pledgeling to donate a total of $250,000.
“To our sisters around the world, we say this: Live as you choose and make no apologies,” the company said in a blog post introducing the campaign. “Always look out for one another. Stay strong, be bold and keep on fighting the good fight. Because now, more than ever, it’s time to rock the boat.”
The campaign officially starts on Wednesday, March 8 at 9 a.m. ET and runs through March 31.
