MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Summerfest will enter its second week with country singer Tiera Kennedy set to perform Thursday, June 26.

Kennedy, widely known for a collaboration with Beyoncé as well as her album "Rooted," described her sound as R&B country and expressed enthusiasm for the Big Gig when she joined us on Thursday morning.

“Oh, I’m so pumped. I mean, it’s a massive festival, so it’s an honor to get invited to play, and getting to play right before Allison Russell! It’s pretty cool, too. I’m such a fan, so I’m honored," Kennedy said.

She also said she plans to sample some Milwaukee cuisine during her visit, including the beloved butter burger. "Well listen, I love a burger! Also, I’m probably going get shamed for this, but I don’t know that I have ever had a cheese curd, so I might have to try those."

With regards to her music, she said injecting some soul is top priority. "I can't present music without a little bit of soul in it, and that's exactly what you get from my show." She added, "I have so much fun on stage, and music for me, you know, I use it to connect with people. I use it to find joy in my day, and I really hope people also feel that from my show."

Kennedy is scheduled to take the stage at 5:45 p.m. at the Aurora Pavilion.
