Thursday evening concerts to be held at Summerfest grounds

There will be two Thursday evening concerts in September at Henry Maier Festival Park.  
Starting Tuesday, September 17, people of all ages will be able to enjoy FREE live music on two Thursday evenings in September.  
“We are excited to provide two free live music events in September courtesy of Summerfest Foundation, Inc., Leinenkugel’s Oktoberfest and Tap Milwaukee.  These free events are a great way for our entire community to enjoy music, the lakefront and Henry Maier Festival Park as we prepare to close out the summer,” said Don Smiley, President of the Summerfest Foundation, Inc.  
The free community events will begin at 7:00 pm (gates at 6:30 pm) each night and kick-off with a special beverage offer until 7:30 pm.  Patrons (ages 21 and over) arriving between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm will receive a free beer.  Limit one per attendee of legal drinking age. 
Thursday, September 17 – Jazz Night featuring The Mitch Shiner Vibes Quartet
Milwaukee native and graduate of Nicolet High School, Mitch Shiner began playing drums at age eight and has been studying percussion since age nine.  
Thursday, September 24 – Indie Night with 88Nine Radio Milwaukee featuring The Helio Sequence with Special Guest Canopies
From Portland, OR, Helio Sequence is an Indie rock band that has been gaining notoriety with the release of their sixth album, “The 20-Song Game.”  
It will be at Johnson Controls World Sound Stage inside the Mid Gate of Henry Maier Festival Park.
There will be free parking in Lots A and G.
