Three Bucks are finalists for NBA awards
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks are looking for another NBA Championship, but some players could have some personal hardware as well.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis are all up for regular season awards.
Antetokounmpo is a finalist for Most Valuable Player. The two-time MVP averaged a career-high 31.1 points per game which was good for fifth in the NBA. He finished third in the league in rebounds per game with 11.8.
This would be Antetokounmpo's third MVP award after winning back-to-back in 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Lopez is a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year. Lopez led the league in total blocks with a career-high 193. He tied for second in the league with 2.5 blocks per game. Lopez has never won Defensive Player of the Year.
Portis is one of three finalists for Sixth Man of the Year. He averaged 14.1 points per game and a career-high 9.6 rebounds. Portis led the league with 23 double-doubles off the bench this season and was ninth in the NBA with 38 double-doubles overall. Portis has never won Sixth Man of the Year.
The NBA Awards do not have a set date for each award but are released periodically throughout the NBA postseason.
