MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A local brewery has received a very prestigious award. Third Space Brewing won a gold medal at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival competition.
The event was held in Denver October 5-7. Third Space Brewing was recognized in the rye beer style category for its "Unite the Clans" Scottish style rye ale.
"The Great American Beer Festival is the biggest beer competition in the world, so we are really excited to have recognition like that in such a large competition in our first year of business," Third Space Brewing co-founder Andy Gehl.
"Unite the Clans" was the only Wisconsin beer entered in the competition to earn a gold medal.
