Third round of rain this week arrives Thursday evening with steady rain likely
The third and final round of precipitation this work week will arrive late Thursday through early Friday. The first round was Tuesday night into Wednesday morning with some wintry mix then we had some showers and downpours Wednesday night into early Thursday. The third round will start after 7 PM Thursday evening. Steady rain looks likely, especially south of I-94 towards the IL border during the overnight hours with then rain ending Friday morning.
Rain totals in those steady southern counties look like they could get up to an inch of rain or even more. Northern counties won't see as much steady rain but some showers still happen there with rain totals of only a tenth or two.
The next round of soaking rain comes as April has been very wet in Milwaukee and most of southeast Wisconsin. Through the first eight days of the month it is the wettest start to April on record with 3.59" of rain. 2024 is also on the list as the third wettest on record but almost a full inch behind 2026. With the rain this week and more storms next week we will likely stay in that top spot.
