The Roots to headline BMO Pavilion during Summerfest on June 25

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Roots will headline the BMO Pavilion with Miller Lite on Thursday, June 25 during Summerfest, event organizers announced on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Formed in 1987 in Philadelphia, The Roots are one of the best known and most respected hip-hop acts in the business. Rolling Stone named them one of the "50 Greatest Live Acts."

The Roots serve as the house band on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," performing every Monday through Friday. The band includes Black Thought, Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, Kamal Gray, F. Knuckles, Captain Kirk Douglas, Damon Bryson and James Poyser.

Concerts at the BMO Pavilion during Summerfest will offer reserved seats available for purchase or free general admission seating on a first-come, first-served basis with a Summerfest ticket.

Tickets for reserved seating go on sale Friday, Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. via Summerfest.com, Ticketmaster.com or in person at the Summerfest Box Office.
