The Pesky Midge Problem Is Back!

Get ready to be on “swat patrol” if you're spending any time along the lakefront these days. It's breeding season for the pesky midges.

These cold-blooded critters can have at least two or three life cycles in a year. So this means during the summer you'll be seeing a different breed just about every month, according to the bug experts.

Most we spoke with today say they're accustomed to these visitors and have no trouble putting up with them. They say you just have to adjust, like keeping your mouth closed as best you can when you're jogging by the lake.

By the end of the month, midges will have to eventually share space with the biting mosquitoes.
