MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Hop may be up and running but that has not silence critics of the project.
"We did not want it, we did not ask for it, and we do not need it." Tom Boese showed up for the opening on Friday to express his opposition to the streetcar service.
"We lost the first battle, but we want to win the war. We're in this for the long haul, not the short haul. And so we lost the first battle, but we do not want to see this thing spread, it's like a cancer," said Boese.
The spread is not a done deal at this point. Plans are drawn up to expand The Hop route to the Bronzeville neighborhood on the north side. The money, however, is not there at this time.
