'The course of true love' takes center stage in area 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' performance
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Oconomowoc High School Players will present William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" on the Oconomowoc Arts Center's Main Stage at 7 p.m. from April 27 - 30, with a 3:30 p.m. show on April 28 for students and staff, and a 2 p.m. performance on April 30.
The play, directed by Tiersa Ferraro and choreographed by Olivia Forsyth, features a cast of 29 exploring the whimsical and humorous aspects of love in a medieval forest setting.
Ferraro encouraged the student actors to take ownership of their characters, contributing ideas for costumes, hair, makeup, and props. "We really want this show to be a fun and supportive collaboration with students bringing their own ideas and taking some ownership," she said.
General seating tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for youth ages 6 to 19 and groups of ten or more. The audience will be seated on stage with the actors to create an intimate experience. The OAC box office can be reached at (262) 560-3172 or online at TheOAC.net for more information.
