The 2021 sailing season will kick off May 7 at the Sailing Center ⛵

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In just one week the 2021 sailing season will officially kick off at the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center on Sunday, May 7.

Sailing Center says they will launch more than 20 large sailboats with the assistance of a twenty-ton crane from its docks in Veterans Park near McKinley Marina beginning at 9 a.m.

Officials say the boats include some Sailing Center boats, as well as numerous privately owned boats that have been stored on the grounds for the winter.

Sailing Center sways they are opening its 2021 season where it left off in 2020 with a demand for classes and opportunities to sail. They will follow guidelines to ensure safety of members, guests, and staff. Those interested in summer classes for youth and adults ae encouraged to sign-up soon as classes fill.
