KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police have released video footage of the moment a teen was pushed out of a moving SUV.

The girl claims 17-year-old Mahzell Morgan pushed her out so he could ditch the vehicle and make a run for it.

A Kenosha County deputy tried to pull a grey Nissan Pathfinder over during a traffic stop, but the unknown driver sped off. Dashcam video shows the deputy chasing the SUV. The driver weaved through traffic, reaching speeds up to 80 miles per hour and nearly hitting another car.

According to the criminal complaint, a 15-year-old girl in the back seat begged the driver to stop. 17-year-old Mahzell Morgan was in the back with her. She told deputies Morgan opened the passenger door and pushed her out of the moving SUV near 67th and 14th Avenue after she started crying. The teen flew out the back of the vehicle and hit her head.

"To hear stuff going on in our neighborhood like that is pretty scary," said Lori George, who lives nearby.

People who live on 14th Avenue say it's not surprising to see police flying by their homes.

"Stuff like this happens on a daily basis to the point where it's hard to have a reaction, but it still shocks people," said neighbor Mauricio Rosales.

Deputies say the girl injured her head and needed stitches.

Police later learned the vehicle was stolen. The driver has not been named or charged.
