Taser deployed, deputies injured in arrest at General Mitchell International Airport
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputies sustained injuries while apprehending a 23-year-old suspect at General Mitchell International Airport.
The incident occurred around 3:50 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5 when deputies reportedly responded to an attempted vehicle theft at the Avis rental facility near Mitchell.
According to the MCSO, the suspect refused to comply with orders to exit the vehicle and fled on foot, leading to a pursuit.
After a brief struggle, a taser was deployed to subdue the suspect.
Both deputies suffered non-life-threatening injuries. One deputy received on-site treatment for extremity pain, while another was transported to a local hospital for examination. The suspect was also taken to an area hospital for evaluation following complaints of back pain.
