Target recalls 'Letters to Santa' mailboxes due to laceration hazard
CINCINNATI (CBS 58) -- A nationwide recall has been issued for a product sold at Target in stores and online.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, a decorative mailbox with "Letters to Santa" written on it can be a laceration hazard.
Approximately 174,300 mailboxes were sold.
The recall was issued after Target received nine reports of sharp mail slot openings and seven incidents of lacerations with three requiring medical attention.
You are advised to stop using the product immediately. It can be returned to any Target store for a full refund in the form of a Target gift card, or you can contact Target for a prepaid shipping label and send it back for the same refund.
Two lots were included in the recall:
234-17-8556 Letters to Santa Metal Mailbox – Red or White - $5
234-20-9275 Letters to Santa Metal Mailboxes – Red & White (2 Count) - $10
The product sticker should either be printed on the bottom of the single mailbox or on the inner packaging of the two-count one.
