Suspect in Kenosha Bank Robbery Incident Taken into Custody Without Incident

UPDATE: The Kenosha bomb squad detonated the vest the subject was wearing.

UPDATE: Suspect in Kenosha bank robbery incident was taken into custody without incident. 

UPDATE: Johnson Bank confirms man believed to be wearing a bomb vest handed a note to the teller at their location on 18th Street in Glenwoods Crossing Center in Kenosha. 

All customers and employees have been evacuated.

Kenosha County Sheriff's Department is on scene assisting Kenosha Police Department's Tactical Response Team.

Johnson Bank released this statement:

“Our greatest concern is for our associates and clients. Thankfully law enforcement has already evacuated the building and we are grateful everyone is safe. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement and hope for a peaceful solution.”

ORIGINAL: There is an active police scene in Kenosha around Johnson Bank located at 2729 18th Street. The bank is located within the Glenwood Crossings Shopping Center.

Businesses within the shopping center confirm to CBS 58 that there is a large police situation but can not confirm why police are there.
