Suspect arrested after sexually assaulting 5-year-old boy in Walgreens bathroom

Milwaukee Police have announced the arrest of a man who they say sexually assaulted a 5-year-old boy in a drug store bathroom.

They said tips from the public led to the arrest of a 29-year-old Milwaukee man.

The assault happened at a Walgreen's on the city's northwest side, at 7600 Capitol Drive on August 9.

Police say that 5-year-old was in this Walgreen's when he asked his parents if he could use the restroom, never expecting what happened next.

Police say after the child went into the bathroom alone, the suspect, walked in after him and sexually assaulted the child.

The child then came out of the bathroom and told his parents what happened.

Police say they don't believe the man knew the family and had no interactions with store employees and after it happened he left the store, running eastbound.

We checked and the bathrooms are public, multi-stall units that are not supervised by employees.

They says it highlights the need for parents to stay vigilant when out in public with their kids.

They do not have reason to believe the man is involved in any other sexual assaults in the area. .

Milwaukee police will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
