UNDATED (CBS 58) – According to a new study, more people want to stop giving gifts over the holiday season.
SunTrust says their survey showed almost seven out of ten people would stop giving gifts if their family and friends agreed to it.
Americans have something else on the wish list instead.
“The majority of Americans would give up gifts for gatherings, which is nice,” says Brian Nelson Ford with SunTrust.
Forty-three percent of those who spend money on anything related to the holidays said they feel pressured to spend more than they can afford. Sixty percent of the more than 2,000 surveyed online say they would rather spend time with family and friends.
