MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin State Fair and Wells Fargo are continuing their annual partnership with Hunger Task Force for one last ticket opportunity this year! The public can score tickets to the 2021 Wisconsin State Fair with a donation to support Hunger Task Force’s Wisconsin Dairy Recovery Program. This last chance to enjoy a favorite summer tradition is only available through Friday, Sept. 4.

The Wisconsin Dairy Recovery Program is a joint effort between Hunger Task Force, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection to help provide relief to hungry families statewide by connecting milk and dairy products to emergency food organizations throughout the state. To date, the Dairy Recovery Program has purchased and distributed 1,154,790 gallons of milk, 378,371 pounds of cheese and 77,592 pounds of yogurt for hungry families throughout Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin State Fair and Hunger Task Force are offering an opportunity to turn every donation made to the Dairy Recovery Program through Sept. 4 (of at least $10) into a pair (2) of tickets to the 2021 Wisconsin State Fair, good on any day. Tickets are available while supplies last.

One of the primary pillars of the Wisconsin State Fair is the celebration of agriculture, farming and the dairy industry statewide, and since the Dairy Recovery Program supports Wisconsin family farmers, this collaborative partnership is particularly special.

Sample donation amounts that could support the Dairy Recovery Program include $25, which buys five 1-lb. blocks of Baby Swiss cheese; $50, which supports 12 2-lb. bags of shredded Cheddar cheese; $100 supporting 164 individual Greek yogurt cups; or $250 that buys 100 gallons of fresh Wisconsin milk.

“Hunger Task Force is thrilled for the opportunity to continue one of Milwaukee’s favorite summer traditions with the Wisconsin State Fair while helping support the Wisconsin Dairy Recovery Program,” said Sherrie Tussler, Executive Director of Hunger Task Force. “With the community’s support, we can continue giving back to dairy farmers and hungry families statewide!”

"Agriculture is the cornerstone of the Wisconsin State Fair," said Kathleen O'Leary Wisconsin State Fair Park, CEO "This partnership perfectly celebrates our agricultural roots by giving back to the dairy industryand also helping those in our community have access to milk and other dairy products.”

Donations are encouraged online through Friday, Sept. 4. Funds will not only bring fresh milk and cheese to struggling families across the state, but will support Wisconsin dairy farmers and small businesses that help make Wisconsin unique. Donations can be made at http://www.hungertaskforce.org/dairywsf
