Sunday Morning Weather Update

A winter weather advisory is now in effect until 6 pm.  We are still expecting the majority of the area to pick up between 2 and 3 inches of snow; however, western parts of our area could receive close to 4 inches.  Milwaukee and other lakeside communities will likely see the lowest totals due to a southeast wind and warmer lake waters.

The snow is starting to fall lightly across southeastern Wisconsin, but it's having to overcome some dry air.  Once we saturate, it will be snowing all across the area by 10 am.  The snow is expected to end by 7 pm.

Temperatures this morning are right around 30 degrees in many spots, and that will allow snow to accumulate on roads.  Travel across our state and into Illinois will become an issue, so plan for extra time on the roads.  Most accidents occur when there's less than 2 inches of snow.
