MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- About 150 students at St. Vincent Pallotti made ham and turkey sandwiches for those in need of a meal Tuesday afternoon.
It was part of a service project they did for Catholic Schools Week.
Catholic Schools around the country are doing similar good deeds to give back to the community during this week. This is the second year St. Vincent students have made sandwiches.
"It just makes me feel warm," said 7th grader, Jasiah Newburn. Jasiah along with other students from kindergarten through 8th grade made hundreds of sandwiches.
"I'm going to put some meat on here. I'm going to pass it to him and he's going to put some cheese on here," each table made an assembly line creating sandwiches.
"They learn teamwork, they learn gratitude for what they have themselves," said Joe Fryda, the school principal.
Once all of the sandwiches were assembled, they were brought to The Guest House Shelter in Milwaukee.
