Families showed up to hear from people who've been affected by violence in Milwaukee.
The event was complete with music and games, to keep the energy going. Kids were also reminded on the importance of education and they got a little help for the upcoming school year by getting free bookbags and haircuts. Organizers just hope children see that violence is not the answer. .
"A lot of things have happened this summer. It's been a crazy summer for these kids. We just want to give them the opportunity to have a woo-sah moment and relax a little bit and go back to school with a positive mentality."
