Steve Stricker deals with emotional, physical blows on path to American Family Championship
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- This year at the American Family Championship? A completely different set of off-course challenges for Steve Stricker.
Steve Stricker is hoping TPC Wisconsin and the American Family Championship becomes his sanctuary, as he and his wife Nicki Stricker will be getting a divorce.
CBS 58 Sports Director Lance Allan asked Stricker about the news of him and his wife splitting and his thoughts, as he lives such a public life.
"Yeah, I don't know what else to say either is that I'm looking forward to getting back out on the golf course. Really," Steve Stricker says.
Steve is also hurting physically. He's practiced and played very little after having hip surgery. It's been quite a journey for him of late. He had surgery and a setback. He's tried to practice. Where is he at?
"Yeah, my head is spinning," Stricker admits. "For sure but it's you know, it's life. It's real life and you know kids are there to support me and I'm there for them. And Bobbi will be on the bag this year."
Stricker and his fans hope he's able to give it all he has here at the American Family Championship as they set up for the tournament in two weeks from June 5 - 7 in Madison, Wisconsin.
