Stepfather of Alexis Patterson dies from suspected overdose

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Tuesday that LaRon Bourgeois, the stepfather of Alexis Patterson, has died.

The death appears to be the result of an overdose, according to the medical examiner. 

Seven-year-old Alexis Patterson disappeared on May 3, 2002 and has never been found.

Investigators say she was on her way to Hi-Mount Community School when she disappeared.

Bourgeois said he last saw her crossing the street toward the school.
