Steer Sold for $52,500 at Wisconsin State Fair
A 1317-pound steer was sold at the 48th Annual Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction on Wednesday night at Wisconsin State Fair.
The steer sold for $52,500 and the entire event raised a total of $321,950.
According to a release from Wisconsin State Fair, Bidding commenced with the Grand Champion Steer (Crossbred) exhibited by Tori Crisp of Union Grove, Wis. in Racine County.

The 1317-pound steer sold for $52,500 with the winning bid from Kenosha Beef International/Birchwood Foods.
The Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction celebrated its 25th year. In total, this year’s auction raised more than $130,000.
The 2016 Best of Show Award went to meat processor Maplewood Meats of Green Bay. The company earned the honor for its Flavored Summer Sausage, which sold for $13,500 to a consortium formed by Country Fresh Meats, Bob & Jill Nieskes, Wells Fargo and Egg Innovations
