Glendale man sentenced to 17 years in prison for May 18 homicide
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A spectacular sight at the Port of Milwaukee on Monday.
A ship called the "Federal Champlain" unloaded steel to be used by local manufacturers.
A port spokesman says about 180,000 tons of steel have been delivered to the port this year.
That's second only to 2006 when 200,000 tons were delivered.
There's an interesting twist to these deliveries.
"When material comes in from Europe, the ships like to take something out. And frequently, it's Wisconsin agricultural products. So it's also been a solid year at the grain silos at the other side of the Port Milwaukee," said Jeff Fleming, Spokesman for Port Milwaukee.
This was the 33rd shop to bring steel to the port this year.
