Staying cool the rest of the week before a big warm up to end June
The last week and a half has been on the cool side with consistent high temperatures below average and barely close to average at times, that trend will likely continue through the rest of this week. Highs on Tuesday will stay in the upper 60s in Milwaukee and some lakeside areas with an east wind but inland areas should be in the 70s. The rest of the week stays in the 70s through the end of the week with some rain chances Wednesday and Thursday and another round of a lake breeze Friday and Saturday.
There continue to be signs that the cooler air will come to an end for the end of June and the beginning of July. The current 8-14 temp trend takes us through the July 4th holiday and gives us a 50% chance for warmer than normal temperatures. The average high during that time of year is close to 81 so we could be well into the mid/upper 80s and even close to 90 at times.
In fact, that 7-day forecast does show the 80s returning by Sunday and potentially the first 90 degree day of the year arriving on Monday!
You see those storm chances for the middle of this week with scattered storms likely from about midnight Tuesday night through midnight Wednesday night. Thursday also has a slight chance for some showers.
A good soaking rain is expected for Wednesday with anywhere from a half inch to 1.50" of rain possible on Wednesday depending on how many rounds of storms we see. Thursday's rain would be much lighter.
A few storms on Wednesday could be on the stronger side with the potential for some hail. Download the CBS 58 Weather app to track all of that rain and see any changes to temps for the upcoming week.
