The Wonders of Wisconsin program was launched back in 2023.

The wonders are sights of nature, historical or cultural significance. The Wisconsin Department of Tourism says adding the state Capitol and square just made sense.

"It is truly a wonder of Wisconsin," said Anne Sayers, the secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. "Between the architecture the culture the history the entertainment that happens here just sort of becoming the beating heart of the background of Wisconsin.”

Many of the Wonders of Wisconsin were suggested by Wisconsinites themselves.

The department of tourism says programs like these are why the $27 billion tourism industry is booming across the state.
