"Start of the Wisconsin holiday season:" Cookie Book signature distribution event held at Miller Park

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Thousands of people headed over to Miller Park on Saturday but it had nothing to do with the Brewers.

A Milwaukee tradition continued as We Energies handed out there annual Cookie Book.

The 2019 Cookie Book includes 38 recipes that could become family favorites.

"We like to call it this 'the start of the Wisconsin holiday season.' Forget when Christmas music starts, forget when store displays go up. For Wisconsinites, this is the start of the holiday season when you get your hands on the Cookie Book for the first time. It is tradition for our company and Wisconsin families," said Brendan Conway with We Energies.

The first edition of the Cookie Book came out 90 years ago by Company Home Economists. They wanted customers to use their new electric appliances. A similar event was held in Appleton for We Energies customers in the Fox Cities.
