Spilled coffee to blame for car vs. pedestrian accident in Kenosha

A woman is recovering after being hit by a car near the Brat Stop near Hwy 50 and I-94 in Kenosha.

The incident happened Friday evening, shortly before 5 p.m.

According to police, the victim was walking in the roadway outside of the crosswalk when a driver spilled coffee on his lap and collided with the pedestrian.

The driver was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with a head injury but is expected to be okay.

The Kenosha Police Department continues to investigate.
